Charter Films Continues to Invest in the Community
Charter Films is the key sponsor for the upcoming Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival, organized by the
Superior Rotary Club, Duluth's Harbortown Rotary Club and the Superior Sunrise Centennial Rotary Club. The festival was held
on August 21-22, 2009, with the primary goal of raising funds for charitable and non-profit organizations. People come from the
mid-western United States and central Canada to attend this event for recreation and enjoyment.
The Dragon Boat Race will take place in Superior Bay off of Barker's Island. Dragon boat teams will compete to support their
charitable partner, St. Mary's/Duluth Clinic (SMDC) Breast Program, often finishing within a fraction of a second from each other.
This event is particularly fun for entire family with additional activities such as a pancake breakfast, mini golf, live music,
dance, hiking and much more.
The Charter Films organization is honored to be a sponsor for this event. "A true sense of community is felt throughout the weekend," says Chris Trapp, President, Charter Films. "The excitement of Dragon Boat Racing brings people together from many different areas, and the enthusiasm and support
generated is overwhelming. Where else can you go and have so much fun, while at the same time raising money for SMDC. We are all
looking forward to the festival."
